InSeason is a project born from a passion for cooking and a desire to reduce environmental impact through seasonal eating. As the designer, I set out to create a simple, intuitive app that helps users identify in-season produce and discover delicious ways to prepare it.
The Problem
Many consumers struggle with purchasing out-of-season produce, which often lacks flavour and comes with a higher environmental cost due to long-distance transportation. There was a clear need for an easy-to-use tool that could guide people towards making more sustainable and flavourful choices in their produce shopping and cooking habits.
The Solution
I created InSeason, an app concept that connects users with seasonal produce information and recipes. My design process involved mapping out user flows and creating detailed wireframes to ensure intuitive navigation. I chose an earthy colour palette and clean fonts to create a fresh, approachable feel. Using Figma, I designed a sleek interface with smooth animations to enhance user engagement.
The result is an app that not only serves its practical purpose but also provides an enjoyable experience, encouraging users to make more sustainable food choices. This project allowed me to combine my interests in cooking and sustainability with my design skills, creating a tool with potential for positive environmental impact.
